SirenWheel The situation on movie preservation is screwed up. Let me clarify, the Internet and collectors do preserve all the game, but nobody cares about movies; GOG has a tendency to delete and remove movie products, including rare ones (to be honest, mostly not very high quality). In the end we have hundreds of forever lost movies, nowhere to be found, movies that were on GOG.

blue_legacy The movies catalog is anemic and they pulled off a huge portion recently. I'd be satisfied if they brought more titles to have a truly rich catalog. Indenpendent cinema is nice. Count me in, not just for cinema, but for other media aswell like it's proposed in the wish title.

yiffbigdaddy I love the idea for how bizarre it is. Like think about it, buying movies like Bir Zamanlar Anadolu'da or Det sjunde inseglet on GOG. But at the end of the day it's kinda pointless? There's Netflix, Criterion Channel (sadly not in my country), Mubi and you can even watch some movies on Youtube. "Good Old Movies" would however be so hilarious to even think about. But if there would be some actually good movies, I'm down with that idea.
Document I wonder what proportion of public domain movies are actually available online; let alone in optimal quality with multiple-language subtitles. Then again, maybe that's more Archive.org's specialization.

Korell Have to remember, though, that GOG is no longer Good Old Games. Ever since their re-launch when they started releasing new games and indie games they dropped the original acronym meaning, and just took on GOG as their name (either pronouced as gog (as in goggles) or as gee-o-gee). It no longer stands for Good Old Games.

FiatLux GOG ought ALSO pickup ALL SORTS of NON main-stream AND hard to get movies (including TV movies) and TV-series' . <br /> I mean , I am not against that GOG picks up *everything* including mainstream , but I think that the real need here is *ALL* sorts of hard to get movies and TV-series' *including* what some would otherwise consider mainstream.

Praxish Could be a cool curated platform to distribute indy/kickstarter/niche type movies for people who prefer ownership to rental. A lot of those sorts of movies sell DRM free on their own websites, but I don't know of a good centralised website for that, and they tend to get buried on the big name services (amazon/itunes) and streaming websites .
Matruchus I think this would be the best decision especially now, since there is a ghost of regional locking flying over our heads.
HunterXxX360 Indie and cult movies would fit perfectly into GOG's repertoire in my opinion! I'm thinking about smallest productions like Shane Caruth's movies...
